September 11, 2001 Plus Two Years

It's been two years, the children came
To read from lists that held the name
Of someone loved who died in flame;
The scene so very moving.

While war goes on, more lives are lost.
The President laid out the cost,
Though over home problems he glossed;
More people disapproving.

In Washington and Shanksville's fields,
Amid the pain that sometimes yeilds
To kindnesses that crack their shields;
Families with grief consumed.

All wonder when the task will end.
How many billions will we spend?
How many young ones will we send
To insure bin Laden 's doomed.
