September 11 Plus Three Years

It's been three years and what's been done?
We're in a war that's far from won.
Who will next lose a cherished one
To mindless, godless terror?

Too many think we've been misled,
Our troops sent to Iraq instead
Of where bin Laden's trail has led.
It's been a costly error.

Intelligence was proven wrong;
Advice ignored. A siren's song
Lured us to where we'll be too long.
No flowered streets to greet us.

Al Qaeda spreads their vicious creed
Throughout the world, like planted seed.
We must now vote for one who’ll lead
While they try to defeat us.
