I’ve reached a point now – I’ve divorced a wife,
And find that my days are lacking in strife.
Two women I know, both light up my life.
What shall I tell them?
One is long married, and happily so,
The other, single, always on the go.
I do love them both, but neither will know,
Because I won’t tell them.
The married one’s been in my thoughts for years,
She was my first love though I caused her tears.
We could have been married but for youthful fears;
Goodbye ‘s what I told her.
The single one’s life has been dedicated
To family and work, not interrelated,
With hardly a thought of passions not sated.
That is what she told me.
I speak with them both by means electronic,
So relationships continue, platonic,
I find that it’s best, however ironic,
And so I’ll not tell them.
